Off the ferry, find the stop on the quay, opposite the ANEK Lines office, marked « Chania City Bus ».

Take line 13 (zone B): ~€1.80 pre-bought, ~20 min to the Agora terminus, right in the centre.

From the Agora, the old town and Venetian harbour are a few minutes on foot.

⚠️ The traps to know

Partial ferry timing: buses leave ~15-20 min after docking, but it's not a guaranteed dedicated shuttle. If you miss the window, taxi (~20 min).
Since 09/02/2026, line 13 no longer goes via Kato Souda and uses Konstantinou Karamanli avenue.
The KTEL Rethymno-Chania bus also passes Souda (~hourly, 06:00-midnight) but drops at Kydonias station, not the Agora.

Plan B

A taxi from Souda port to the old town takes ~20 min and removes all stress if you land with luggage, early, or miss the bus window. It's the most direct option. If you're picking up a rental car, note the old town is pedestrian: park on the edge.
